Demi vs the Monsters of the 3rd Reich #1
by Perry L. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 05/26/2014 21:46:36

"Demi vs the Monsters of the 3rd Reich" #1 is an unusual and unique comic, in several ways. First, it is a prequel, framed by a sequel, to a live-action porn movie, based on long-running comic-book characters. Demi the Demoness has appeared in perhaps two dozen comics and Vampirooni has been her companion for the last three or four. That's surely a first.

Equally curious is the relative lack of sexual content in the book. CARNAL COMICS is known for providing almost wall-to-wall sex in its publications. Certainly, there is sex—or at least, violation, by monsters—and it's quite graphic. Yet mostly we're treated to pages of storyline and well-researched historical data. At times the tale becomes poignant.

Students of history and the occult will enjoy seeing the rise of the psychopathic Nazi regime –and Vampirooni is there for the entire bloodthirsty ride. The ancient Egyptian vampiress becomes the lover of a Nazi architect, Baron von Crowley (kudos on that name) whose daughter and granddaughter he schools in occult lore. The Indiana Jonesian MacGuffin this time is an Atlantean relic called the Thule Gestaff, an item of powerful magic, charged by—what else—sexual energy.

For her part in the story, Demi finds herself captured by Mistress Helga, who is Lyssa's mom. Most of the sex in the book occurs here, naturally. It seems that Demi's adventure with Helga occurs on the same night Vampirooni returns to von Crowley's schloss, yet they never run into one another. That's OK, but it would have helped the reader make the connection in events by, perhaps, giving a name to the cultist who runs off with the Staff in Demi's story and then reference him by that name when Vampi drains him of blood in her story.

It is young Lyssa who grows up to become the foil of Demi and Vampi in the Demi the Demoness movie. Lyssa seems to be the dark-haired, evil version of my own character, Cassiopeia the Witch. At least they shop the same boutiques.

The art is not quite on the level of previous Demi the Demoness publications, but it's not bad. Both S.S. Crompton and Randy Vogel contributed to the art, but a couple of newcomers helped out. The Vampirooni story, with all its exposition, seems crowded on the page in places.

Still, it's not everyday one finds a comic with demons, vampires, werewolves, the Monster of Frankenstein, Adolf Hitler, and a shoggoth. This book is worth picking up just for that.

Demi & Cassiopeia #1
by Ronald F. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 05/01/2014 06:16:03

I really enjoyed Demi the Demoness Meets Cassiopeia the Witch, but I am biased. I am the co-author and illustrator of the third volume in this unprecedented Underground Crossover, first published by RipOff Press in the 1990s. The comic I created with Steve Crompton is DEMI THE DEMONESS MEETS CAPTAIN FORTUNE, soon to be available from Drive Thru Comics in full color with additional stories and material not published in the original version. Yes, folks, 48 glorious pages of hot sex and silly sic-fi!

CASSIOPEIA THE WITCH is a charming character and series created by Perry Lake as a mini-comic back in the day. She walks around "sky clad". She has real magical powers. She has hot sex. She beats the heck our of Harry Potter. Put her together with the adorable Demi the Demoness and mix them into a Lovecraftian plot involving demon-worshippers and wild action and you get one cool comic book. This is the Present Day volume of the Crossover.

The Past volume of the Crossover involves Philo's popular SHAUNDRA, a sword-swinging gal from a mediaeval world. Gods and monsters and steamy scenes abound. All three comics add up to a unique series, the only Underground crossover ever. And rumor has it that Steve and his collaborators are working on a final volume in which all 3 sets of characters will join Demi to fight Lyssa the Nazi Witch in the Land of Lost Things!

Demi & Shaundra #1
by Perry L. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 04/12/2014 19:42:37

This book is an XXX-citing crossover between two of the greatest adult comics characters, Demi the Demoness and Shaundra. Steve Crompton and Philo switch back and forth every few pages on the art chores, which is a little odd, but they both do a good job. If you like stories with a lot of action and comedy, you'll love this!

The Last Goddess #1
by Kenneth T. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 10/08/2011 02:49:06

I was extremely pleased with “The Last Goddess #1” it was well drawn as well as inked. It is for mature readers and I must say was impressed as it actually had a well written story with a beginning, middle and an end. Components too many mature reads are lacking these days. As a bonus there is a chapter from the "City of the Gods" novel & RPG game book.

In closing it all (writing & art) boils down to Bravo! And Well done!

Calavera: Beautiful & Bloody #1
by John G. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 09/24/2011 07:47:23

This book is quite gory and graphic. If you like slashing, murderous monsters blended with some XXX level sex panels, then this will be a guilty pleasure for you.

This book is a collected series of very short stories, edited together in a journal style that dives into the origin and adventure of Calavera. She is a monster. She is a monster hunter. She has claws like we may have seen in another wildly popular hero. She has a killer body and gives into blood lust as quickly as she gives into blood. If you read this all at once, you might chuckle at the repeat of extreme circumstances. I mean this in a good way. There is a variety of art that ranges from pedestrian to notable. The lettering is fine, but the fancy scripting on the narration can get distracting.

This book does not present a strong story. Rather, it collects 2 and 3 page vignettes that show off Enrico Teodorani's love of gore and slash and bodily fluids.

Demi & the Sex Squad #1
by John G. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 09/14/2011 07:39:36

This is probably more of a "3 1/2 star book." If you are a fan of the XXXenophile books, old-school superhero stories, and naughty strips from the men's magazines, then give Demi & the Sex Squad a try.

Treat it as a superhero parody with plenty of skin and graphic sex. It's not an erotic work, and the sex scenes are rarely more than a single panel. But it's a fun read that focuses more on the plot line than the graphics.
