I don't know what I'd use this for, as it is not really suitable for the ambience of a haunted house. It's more like the ambience of a haunted house full of dumb teens partying before they discover the horrible thing that caused the house to be considered "haunted", but it''s too loud and busy to suggest the atmosphere of a haunted house. More like Wednesday and Pugsley Addams grew up to be ravers than an investigation into a creepy house of fear and nightmares.

This track will take you through a number of different musical styles, from spacy electronica to rock and roll to lounge jazz. You were expecting creepy, due to the name “Haunted House”? The sounds of wind and indistinct voices—possibly moans or cries—try to inject this into the piece, but the sound effects aren’t enough to turn basically non-creepy music into a scary experience. I wouldn’t use this track to score an exploration of a haunted house. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t use it; I just think the name and the music are mismatched. I’d use this track instead to score something like a night of investigation or patrol up and down the Las Vegas strip or a similar setting. Even here, though, the dramatic changes in mood, genre, and (especially) volume make this track less well suited to continuous looping under an RPG scene, unless the scene just happened to play out in a way that exactly corresponds to the music’s rises and falls.

I would say this reminds me most of a New Wave synth pop version of the Friday the 13th theme. There are creepy laughs and cackles thrown in very lightly in the background. I'm not as big of a fan of the tracks that sound too MIDI, but it gets the job done for sure. The song transitions to some 80s guitar before going to a distorted sounding version of the beginning of the song. The semi-romantic sounding interlude near the end is a bit confusing, but hey, it's kind of an 80s throwback, so it works.

Decent but doesn't really fit my definition of a "Haunted House" The soundtrack is interesting and well done but doesn't really have a spooky feel to it - it simply feels to modern and techno to really fit a scene in a haunted house in my opinion. There's almost nothing in it that captures the tropes of a haunted house. Instead I think it's better suited for use in a dark, creepy crime or supernatural investigation. To me it fits a "Supernatural meets CSI" feel. That said, it's a good value for the asking price as long as the buyer isn't expecting something gothic or truly scary sounding track.

This does have an 80s flavor to it, and I'd say it's more dark monologue than creepy. It's still very good, for what it is. I think I'll be using it for a Dead of Night game.

If you've decided that your session is going to have the feel of an 80's horror movie, you need to get this track. Now. It very much fits right into the slightly B grade horror movie genre. I don't say this in a bad way, being that I grew up in the 80s and have a love of 80s horror flicks. If you're looking to do a seriously creepy game, this may not be the best choice. But for some good background sounds with the occasional ghostly voice chiming in, it'll do fine, keeping in mind there is a slight cheese factor.
